Distribution is easier than I thought. My band is now officially on half a dozen music sites, including iTunes, eMusic and Sony Connect.

I got a job!
It's in music, sort of. It's a young audience, a very young audience. I may even have enough money to subscribe again!
Wish me luck!!

Planning to play our ol' stand by, FRATELLI'S, in good ol' Bayonne in the month of May. JAZZIQUE will also be in Jersey City in May, and we will play a banquet in June in Huntington.

You know, I love the internet. Everybody is a star, an Oscar Wilde, a Stevie Wonder, and theoretically, anyone can know. So much has happened in the last year; one of the reasons why I haven't posted in so long. Let's see if I can organize my thoughts in such a way that others may understand:

My band, Jazzique, is developing their True Hollywoof story. What with our problems with drummers, the disaster non-gig at Top of the Crescent in Bay Ridge (segue - we had an hour long interview with the owner who told us his life story and gushed about his daughter, promised us an audition gig the following Saturday, only to tell our MD that he wanted a DJ instead. I had to talk our MD down from picking this cat up by his package and tossing him out the panorama through a two inch thick plate glass window. Our guitarist and female vocalist travelled over three hours with the rats on the LightRail, the PAth and R train from Bayonne, so we took them to the loudest BBQs ever on 22nd and 8th where the group next to us shafted the server by underpaying the bill. - end of segue)

The plus is we got our album distributed. It's small - but it's a start. Once we get the Second Dozen completed, we'll have a solid sense of what we are doing. I should have become an accountant or a lion tamer; something easier.

I am growing our martial arts school - those who are New York based may have seen me getting trounced by an 82 year old woman on the news last week. I can assure you - it take more skill to get beaten up than to beat someone up. Most recently, I acheived blue belt in Judo, a dangerous time to be sure.

I saw Wynton Marsalis at a ceremony at City Hall at the end of February, but I chickened out. I saw him talking to the wife and sister of Ed Bradley - who was being honored posthumously - and felt hesistant to approach. is there an icon for :coward

I'm too lazy to check.

I have a gig at The Kitchen this afternoon, one of those solo gigs where the bookers tells you to "do your thing" but doesn't give a sense of the clientele. It could be a simple Bill Martin gig, but Romantic that I am, I think it may be my big break.
Wish me luck!

Well, going into the studio a broke man; maybe I'll leave rich. C'est la vie, je pense. Will pray that I'll become worthy of $$$, and that I'll help myself and others. Ciao!
